In 1989, Tom Riley founded Thomas Riley Artisans’ Guild, combining his management skills, knowledge of the woodworking industry, and high standards for client service. He has developed and maintained a clear mission and vision for the company by upholding expectations for nothing less than monumental quality craftsmanship and white glove customer service.
Tom takes pride not only in the quality of products and services provided by his company, but also in the character and integrity of each and every employee in the organization. Incorporating the basic values of loyalty, honesty and a shoulder-to-shoulder work ethic, Tom has established a positive work environment and unique culture.

Douglas Poe, General Manager
As a second generation master cabinetmaker with over 30 years experience in the woodworking business, Doug Poe brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and heart to Thomas Riley Artisans’ Guild. As General Manager, the organizational and project management skills he acquired while running his own custom cabinetry business for 15 years are used daily.
Doug’s foremost responsibilities include production scheduling and quality control. He oversees all workflow and inspects each project regularly to ensure that every product is monumental and is delivered on time. He has helped Tom Riley create a company with an unrivaled reputation for quality and service.
Matthew Riley, Client Relations
Matt Riley’s experience with fine woodworking began at an early age — working in the family furniture refinishing business — and continued through college, where he furthered his knowledge of the architectural design industry through his work in an ornamental iron shop. After receiving his Business degree, Matt succeeded in several industries before returning to Thomas Riley Artisans’ Guild in 2003.
As Director of Client Relations, Matt now develops new projects by working closely with clients and their design and build teams to determine how Thomas Riley Artisans’ Guild can be of best value to each project. He is passionate about working with clients and ensuring that their experience with Thomas Riley Artisans’ Guild is unparalleled.
Benjamin Riley, President
As President, Ben Riley oversees administrative operations for Thomas Riley Artisans’ Guild. Ben brings experience in manufacturing engineering, materials science, and custom woodworking and has extensive knowledge of the principles of lean manufacturing, computer hardware, software, and technology integration.
Ben also manages the company’s Management Information System ensuring that information is accurately recorded and transferred between all departments. Ben, and the company as a whole, invests significant energy and resources in order to track each project real-time and to provide detailed performance and accounting reports. Ben graduated cum laude from Boston University with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering.
