Project Development & Management
Your experience with Thomas Riley Artisans’ Guild begins with a thorough orientation provided by our Project Development team that is absolutely obsessed with creating a positive, valuable relationship with you and the design and build teams. We’ll introduce you to our custom products and services capabilities, guide you on a tour through our state-of-the-art facilities, allow you to view completed projects and work with you to determine how we may best serve your needs.
Whether you call upon us to create a powder room vanity, private home study, or an entire interior, we are pleased to also provide full-scale Project Management — from concept to completion. One of our experienced project managers will work closely with you, the architect, interior designer, builder and other trade professionals to ensure a successful result.
Our talented, experienced team of Design Engineers will engage creativity and the latest drafting technology to create 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional presentations to help you best visualize the products we will be creating for you. Close communication with your architect and interior designer will be maintained to ensure that we accurately convey their visions.
Once designs are completed, we always take our own field measurements and develop highly detailed AutoCAD shop drawings. Our shop drawings detail our custom wood products and integrate other trade products that influence our work, including audio/visual components, low-voltage lighting, home automation controls, HVAC, glass, metal, upholstery, countertops, architectural hardware, etc. We’ll also maintain a close relationship with your builder in order to stay abreast of field conditions that affect our work and to keep them updated with the engineering details that may impact construction.
Once shop drawings are approved they are passed along to our team of Master Artisans and Craftsman to truly bring your products to life. Our diverse team of masters and master apprentices boasts centuries of combined experience in fine cabinetry, millwork and furniture making, as well as expertise in unique skills such as custom veneering, curved work, hand carving and lathe turning. These master skills, combined with premium grade materials and the most precise modern machinery, allow our manufacturing team to create some of the finest-built custom wood products in the world today.
No extraordinary piece would be complete without the exquisite custom finishes applied by our talented and efficient team of decorative artists and master finishers. Our finishers are expertly trained in modern finish application as well as age-old wood finishing techniques such as French polishing, painting & glazing, leafing and gilding. Utilizing the finest materials and advanced application technology — custom color mixing, air-assist spray devices, custom sand paper and dust-free spray and drying booths — we ensure unsurpassed clarity and durability for all products whether we finish them in our facilities or apply the final applications on site.
The diversity of our finish team also allows you to rely on us for more than just custom wood finishes. Our decorative artists have mastered specialty wall finishing applications of Venetian plaster, marmorino, luster stone, hand painting, and mural work. Beautiful wall finishes and painting are a wonderful compliment to our custom wood products that will adorn your home.
Delivery & Installation
Once each product is finished and has been inspected for quality, our professional delivery team carefully wraps and loads each piece to ensure that they arrive at the jobsite in perfect condition. Upon delivery, our team of master installers is prepared for the careful unloading of the project and staging for installation.
Our installation team consists of diligent, talented craftsmen with extensive experience as cabinetmakers and field craftsmen. The challenges of installing finished products in a custom residence require expert craftsmanship, job site experience, a team mentality and a great deal of patience and flexibility. Unforeseen jobsite conditions can significantly interrupt workflow if not dealt with immediately and effectively.
Our installation team works closely with the builder and communicates daily with our Field Foreman and Project Manager to be sure we are on schedule, while also accommodating other trades that integrate with our finished products. And we maintain a clean, safe, productive and positive jobsite environment.
Client Service & Maintenance
We stand behind our commitment to provide monumental quality products — all of our interior, finished wood products are guaranteed for the lifetime of the original purchaser. We also stand behind our commitment to white glove customer service — many of our clients have come to rely on our Service & Maintenance team to provide timely and trustworthy home maintenance services even beyond the scope of our custom woodwork.
As you meet the Thomas Riley Artisans’ Guild family it will become apparent that we live a culture of kindness, fairness, honesty and hard work. Each and every team member is trained and empowered to provide an unparalleled experience every step of the way that we hope you’ll be happy to talk about long after we’ve completed our job.
